The Whig’s Anti-War Activism

posted January 31st, 2008 by Bo(n)no(t)

For once, the editors of Kingston’s old-school conservative newspaper The Kingston Whig-Standard have finally taken a step back and decided that maybe, just maybe, local anti-war activists might have a point.

For the third time in 5 days, the Whig has made sure that a small group of anonymous individuals who have been engaging in playful yet serious subversion of ‘Support Our Troops’ magnets get the strong publicity they deserve. Without them, we never would have known.

Of course, they don’t mention in any of the articles that they’ve been sending every single one of their subscribers free army magnets over the past months. Or that ‘We Support Our Troops!’ has become a permanent fixture of their front page. But that’s all water under the bridge, now.

To the unknown, uncredited artists who have been beautifying cars across Kingston: thank you. And of course, none of this could have been possible without sponsorship, direct or indirect, from our very own Kingston Whig-Standard.
